About the company
Presentation
Digital currencies offer emerging and developing economies major opportunities. They can expand financial inclusion, cut remittance costs and connect local markets to global capital. These gains depend on sound regulation and supervision. Yet many central banks and supervisors lack the staff, data and tools to keep pace with frontrunner jurisdictions. Global frameworks rarely reflect these constraints. GIZ helps partner institutions across Africa, Asia and Latin America build supervisory capacity and share experience. It also connects them to international standard-setting. An interoperable, trusted ecosystem needs these jurisdictions at the table as equal partners, not rule-takers.
Panel Discussion: Regulation Going Global
As digital currencies move from niche innovation to mainstream infrastructure, regulation is becoming an increasingly global conversation. This panel will explore how jurisdictions are shaping policy for stablecoins, CBDCs, tokenized assets, and crypto markets, and what greater international coordination means for financial institutions, fintechs, and policymakers. Join leading regulators, industry experts, and legal practitioners as they discuss emerging frameworks, cross-border challenges, and the opportunities to build a more interoperable and trusted digital financial ecosystem.
